A Rich History. A Promising Future.

40 Years of Supporting Career Practitioners & Growing Stronger

The Network is a free international non-profit association training career practitioners since 1979.

A History That Has Touched the Lives of Millions Around the Globe

Richard “Dick” Knowdell and the late Zandy Leibowitz established the Career Development Network to serve career practitioners around the world in four distinct ways:

  • A bimonthly newsletter shared information, resources, conferences, and assessments with thousands of career practitioners globally

  • A quarterly journal provide an in-depth exploration of specific topics relevant to the field

  • The International Career Development Conference (ICDC) ran successfully for 24 years and was keynoted by industry leaders

  • Certification workshops and continuing education opportunities, like the 3-day Job & Career Transition Coach Certification workshops were attended by over 8,000 career practitioners globally.

After over 40 years of service to the profession, Dick passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on December 13, 2021.

A Promising Future Under New Leadership

After Dick’s passing, the Network went on hiatus for several months. In mid-2022, Rich Feller, Ph.D. volunteered as Executive Director. As Professor Emeritus, Founder of Rich Feller & Associates, and Lead Trainer for the JCTC training in North America he worked closely with Dick Knowdell and the Network.

Co-author of several high-impact career assessments and tools such as Pearson’s Career Decision Making System, he is Co-Founder of OneLifeTools, and Advisor to YouScience.

He has consulted on six continents, all 50 states and over 37 countries with clients including the UN, NASA, NFL, AARP, HP and organizations across the world.
